Wholesale Ladder Packaging: What to Specify Before Shipment

Table of Contents

A carton can hide a missing platform plate. Tie the sales unit and every loose part to a model code before approving the pack.

Wholesale Ladder Packaging What to Specify Before Shipment

Start with the exact ladder and its folded form

Packing unit is what one SKU buys: a ladder or a complete kit. Folded dimension is the size of the closed product before the outer carton. Accessory manifest is the count of loose bars, plates, fittings or hooks. Put all three on the packing sheet; carton measurements alone cannot tell a receiver what should be inside.

The packing sheet starts with the manufacturer’s model and the buyer’s SKU. For a mixed order, photograph each folded ladder beside its own loose parts; keep the SKU visible in the frame. For example, a telescopic unit may close to a short bundle, while the hinged platform kit needs room for its plate. Their open working heights cannot be used as carton dimensions.

Record dimensions in the shipping position

The supplier’s measurements should describe two things: the folded ladder and the closed shipping carton.  Mark whether a balance bar, hook or plate was attached when the product was measured. Otherwise the same model can acquire two different widths on separate quote sheets.

Jadduo lists both on its two-section ladder with pulley and rope. Its 2×6 listing gives a straight length of 253 cm, a closed length of 164 cm and a packing size of 164 × 42 × 11 cm. Those numbers describe that one model, not a general rule for extension ladders.

Field on the packing sheet Question it answers
Folded product dimensions Which storage and inner-pack space does the actual ladder require?
Carton outer dimensions What will freight and warehouse planning use?
Gross weight per carton What weight will the receiver handle?
Accessory count Is the quoted ladder a complete kit?

Jadduo’s range covers telescopic, A-frame, platform, fiberglass and multi-purpose ladders, including OEM/ODM work. A distributor may order several step counts under one purchase order. Give each a packing record. If the cartons look alike, the record becomes more useful, because the receiving team cannot sort them by appearance alone.

Identify parts that ship loose

The Big Hinge 7 IN 1 ladder uses a separate steel plate in its platform arrangement. For that kit, count the plate and its fittings. Another model may include a balance bar, feet, wheels or hooks; use its own quote to settle the carton contents.

Jadduo’s multi-purpose range includes A-frame, straight and double-A arrangements, with a separate plate for the platform form on applicable models. Its detachable balance bar and optional moving wheel create different packed kits. For example, a frame-only sample cannot approve a kit that includes those parts. Write each variant on its own parts sheet, then photograph the bar, feet, plate and wheel beside the folded frame before closing the carton. The packing station needs to know which pieces belong to the exact ordered arrangement.

Rooftop-tent ladders create another packing question. Jadduo offers one-button and multi-button telescopic versions and a hook-equipped option. The one-button tent ladder is listed in several lengths. A hook model needs its upper connector identified on the parts sheet, while a one-button version needs the correct closing instructions. Do not use the same accessory photograph for both cartons merely because both frames telescope. Confirm the chosen variant against its sample and manual.

Define the packing unit before discussing carton count

Define one sales unit and any master carton before calculating freight.

Jadduo’s two-step aluminum ladder with bracket lists one piece per shrink bag and a 96 × 38 × 12 cm packing size for its two-step version. That is a different packing unit from a multi-position kit with a loose steel plate. Put the unit description beside the dimensions; otherwise “96 × 38 × 12” says too little about what the buyer will receive.

A Jadduo high-handrail household ladder listing instead specifies four pieces per carton. Its two-step row gives 119 × 47.5 × 31 cm for that carton, while its four-step row gives 170 × 47.5 × 31 cm. This is a different unit count as well as a different ladder form. Read the column heading before copying a dimension into a freight estimate.

Separate retail presentation from transit protection

The Big Hinge 7 IN 1 listing describes blister packaging and a cardboard box with lid, and asks buyers to confirm carton alternatives. That is a starting detail for this model. A telescopic ladder in the same Jadduo catalogue may have another pack entirely. Send Jadduo the exact item number and ask for the current physical packed sample.

Make each carton easy to identify and inspect

Check the marks against the purchase order.

Mark Where to verify it
Manufacturer model and buyer SKU Quote, carton proof, product label
Step count or size Product, carton, packing list
Lot or batch reference Carton and supplier shipping record
Manual revision Manual cover and approved sample record

Keep product instructions with the right model

Open the sample and find the model on its manual. Does the platform version show the plate that is actually packed? Are the permitted ladder arrangements the same as the product label? The US OSHA portable-ladder card tells users to follow ladder labels and markings. For a destination order, check the required language on the product and in the manual before approving artwork.

On a mixed order, the handoff from assembly to packing deserves attention. Where does the packer read the finished model code, and how is the right manual drawn from stock? The answer should be visible in the sample pack or the factory’s work instruction.

Control changes to printed marks

Map the buyer SKU to Jadduo’s model. Approve carton artwork, ladder label, manual revision and physical contents together; update the set when a variant changes.

Approve a packed sample and a realistic receiving check

Picture a reorder in which the cartons still carry the buyer’s SKU, but the kit inside has changed. The receiver cannot resolve that from an outer mark. Keep the approved packed sample’s photograph beside the purchase order and photograph the first opened carton from the new lot in the same order: frame, loose items, manual, label. Then compare counts, not merely the shape of the closed pack. A discrepancy discovered at the first carton is easier to describe than one found after the batch has been distributed.

Open the sample before approving the lot; a closed carton cannot show whether the kit is complete.

Check fit, handling, and contents

Use the sample to answer concrete questions:

Check Evidence to keep
Does the ladder move inside the closed pack? Photo of restraint locations and a note of the handling check
Are rails, feet, steps and hinges unmarked after unpacking? Close-up images at the likely contact points
Is every loose part present? Count against the SKU bill of materials
Do product and carton marks agree? Approved label artwork and sample photographs

Jadduo uses cutting, punching, riveting and tube-expanding equipment, followed by assembly and packing. The useful purchasing question is how the packing station receives the correct finished variant and accessory count. A process list does not establish a test result. Request the record or physical evidence needed for the order you are placing.

Tie receiving criteria back to the order

Agree how missing accessories, wrong marks, a mismatched manual and transport damage will be recorded. Decide what portion of the lot will be opened and photographed. Keep the approved packed sample’s images with the purchase order. The site’s wholesale ladder receiving checklist covers arrival checks; the packing sheet gives that inspection an agreed reference.

Inspect the product behind a damaged carton. The HSE ladder condition guide lists damaged feet, bent stiles and loose rivets among defects. Isolate an affected ladder while the claim is resolved.

Send a precise packing request with the inquiry

Jadduo processes round pipes through drilling, indentation or stamping and sleeving; square pipes go through drilling and plastic-sleeve installation. Labeling, strapping, assembly and packing follow the respective tube work. Ask where the finished variant is identified before accessories are packed. This matters when orders mix products that fold into similar silhouettes.

Production point What the buyer should confirm on a sample
Cut and drilled or stamped tubes Finished frame matches the model code on the quote
Sleeves and assembled fittings Loose pieces are counted against the ordered kit
Labeling and strapping Marks and restraint belong to the correct variant
Final pack Manual, ladder and carton identify the same product

The Jadduo About Us page provides supplier context. Send the packing inquiry through the contact page with:

  • the exact model, size and quantity;
  • the destination, sales channel and requested packing unit;
  • the model-specific parts list and label fields;
  • a request for a physical packed sample with measured dimensions.

FAQ

Does every ladder need a retail carton?

No. The sales channel and ladder form decide the pack. Confirm that the proposed unit both protects the product and carries the marks your operation needs.

Can the same carton be used for several ladder sizes?

Only after a packed sample for each SKU shows secure fit and correct labels. Shared outer dimensions alone prove little about internal restraint.

What is the most useful document to request before production?

A packing specification tied to the exact model and approved sample. It should show contents, carton dimensions, restraints, labels, manual revision and unit count.
